The end of the school year stirs up all sorts of feelings. People without children are openly rejoicing a brief respite from the horrendous traffic brought on by school zones and carpoolers. While panic is setting in for parents who don’t want to pay for summer camp and can’t, in good conscience, hide their kids in a conference room all break long to save money. We have some reassuring news for you folks in the latter group.
Beginning June 8, HistoryMiami offers free admission for all Miami-Dade County students and their families (up to four people total). The special runs through August 19 and is part of the Summer Passport Program, which includes bonus surprises. Following each visit, children receive a stamp in their passport and, once they’ve collected four stamps, can pick a prize from a special treasure box.
Not that you need to bribe your little ones with gifts. HistoryMiami is packed with cool memorabilia and local artifacts your kids can touch, smell and play with, all of which seem endlessly more fun than rummaging through your office supplies.
