BondSt, the iconic NYC restaurant that defined the city's early 2000s dining scene, is about to take over Miami once more. The eatery has, in fact, signed its first Miami lease since 2009, and is set to debut at One Kane, a new office building at 9551 E Bay Harbor Drive near Bal Harbour, in 2027.

As Miamians may well remember, BondSt originally opened in the basement of the former Townhouse Hotel in South Beach back in 2000 but closed down over a decade later, in 2013.

According to an official press release, the new restaurant will occupy nearly 17,000 square feet of space that will include a dining room, a sushi bar, a waterside dining terrace and a rooftop lounge.

“I’m thrilled to bring BondSt back to Miami,” said Jonathan Morr, the restaurant's owner, in an official statement. “Miami’s energy and synergy with New York make it the perfect place for our next chapter. We’ve been waiting a long time for the right opportunity in Miami, and with One Kane’s waterside location and thoughtfully designed spaces, we have the ability to create something truly special.”

In recent years, BondSt has staged a gastronomic comeback of sorts: although the eatery's original NYC location in Noho, which opened back in 1998, is still thriving, the restaurant's 2023 debut in Hudson Yards, an up-and-coming neighborhood on the west side of Manhattan, has certainly expanded its footprint. Add to it all this new Miami address and it feels like the late 1990s all over again.
