Miami, we’ve got good news for fans of both the Wynwood restaurant KYU (us) and fans of eggs (us again). The restaurateurs behind KYU are preparing to open another concept in Wynwood called Laid Fresh, which is scheduled to open in Spring 2019.
Laid Fresh will take over the space of the dearly departed Philly transplants Dizengoff and Federal Donuts. According to the press release, it’ll be an “egg-forward” concept, which is a phrase we will almost certainly borrow to make our weekend breakfast sound more exciting.
The fast-casual joint will serve egg-heavy items like egg sandwiches with house-cured bacon, salads, fried chicken sandwiches and more. Diners will be able to pair menu items with cans of wine, champagne, local beer and mugs of mimosas, which sounds like it may very well become our new favorite way to drink mimosas.
If the quality of KYU is any indication, this place should become a quick favorite in Wynwood. We’ll certainly keep you posted on when you can expect this egg to hatch. (Sorry. Had to do it.)
