Super Bowl LIV is shaping up to be possibly one of the most Miami sporting events of all time. The 54th-annual NFL championship game lands in the Magic City (well, Miami Gardens) on February 2, when two yet-to-be-determined teams will duke it out under the hallowed dome of the Hard Rock Stadium.

And today we learned who will be headlining the coveted (and oft-overhyped) half-time show: Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. The two Latina pop divas are a natural fit, of course. J. Lo and salsa great Marc Anthony co-parent their kids in Miami, where they live and attend school. Lopez has also been dating former pro baseballer and infamous Miamian Alex Rodriguez since 2017.

Shakira, for her part, has also been a longtime Miami Beach resident. Last year, she put up her $11.6 million waterfront property for sale, listed by prominent real estate agent Antonio Mebarak, who’s also her brother.

But apart from their strong Miami ties, both women are global crossover music phenomenons whose legacies have more than earned them their turn in the Super Bowl spotlight. Expect Billboard Icon Award recipient J. Lo to deliver plenty of her signature booty-shaking—her latest movie, Hustlers, proves she’s definitely still got the moves.

Mononymic, mini-sized Shakira was recently ranked by Spotify as the most-streamed Latin artist of all time and in 2014 became the first musical act to perform three times at the FIFA World Cup. So we’re guessing she’s going to show us a thing or two about how to pull off a proper half-time show. No matter how the actual game goes down, one thing is certain: the 54th Super Bowl is going to be hot, steamy and very Miami. And we’re totally here for it.
