Update:

Welp. As of the evening of March 4, 2020, Ultra Music Festival is postponed indefinitely following concerns of Coronavirus. City commissioners confirmed the news to local outlets on Thursday evening. Sadly, we were told otherwise on Wednesday, when Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez tweeted that Ultra Music Fest would go on as planned. The mayor wasn’t taking matters lightly either, heeding an advisory from Florida’s surgeon general, who seems like a pretty smart guy to us.

Gimenez’s decision to stet the 21st annual event, the largest electronic music festival in the world, heeds an advisory from Florida’s surgeon general. The mayor isn’t taking matters lightly. Just as Ultra will go on, so will Calle Ocho Festival, Winter Music Conference and the rest of the month’s major events.

The fate of Calle Ocho and the other citywide events planned for March hang in the balance. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Miami Beach Pride will rise.
