Hot in Your Hood is our curated neighborhood series, where friends of Time Out Miami highlight the locally owned businesses they love in the areas they reside in. Read on to find out the spots these tastemakers recommend in the ’hoods they rep, from the fun stuff like great places to eat and shop to the practical things, like where they go to break a sweat or get something repaired. These mini-guides are personal recommendations intended to show support to our small-biz community—#notsponsored.
By Dana Rozansky of Miami Food Porn, as told to Virginia Gil
I’m no stranger to the many different neighborhoods this city has to offer—and I’m always down to make moves to eat, drink and explore—Brickell is where I call home. Sure, Brickell has its faults, like the crazy traffic and the seemingly nonstop construction, but it also has so much to offer from the minute I step out of my door. I can easily enjoy a killer meal, indulge in drinks with a view, take a scenic walk, count on some solid people watching and ogle some of the cutest pups in town, all from the comforts of my ‘hood. If loving Brickell is wrong, I don’t wanna be right! With that, below are a few of my go-to Brickell spots:
Raw Juce
This is my favorite place for a healthy morning pick-me-up. The smoothies always hit the spot, and the acai bowls are the best in town. Yep, I said it. Try the OMG Protein bowl and thank me later.

B Bistro
My favorite brunch spot in Brickell is B Bistro, hands down. You can’t go wrong with any of the croissants and pastries or the savory dishes. Some of my fan favorites include the brussels sprout Caesar, the truffle bun and the pastelito pancakes.

Osaka
I’m basically an Osaka groupie. This Peruvian-Nikkei restaurant has the freshest nigiri and ceviche I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered takeout from Osaka nearly every week since quarantine started, so if that’s not the ultimate testimonial, I don’t know what is.

LPM Restaurant & Bar
If you want to be transported far from Brickell, go for a classy lunch or dinner on LPM’s patio. The French cuisine, expertly crafted cocktails and stellar service always make for a memorable meal. Plus, the takeout is 10/10.

CKO Miami
The only reason I’m able to indulge in the aforementioned meals is that I start nearly every day with a workout thanks to CKO Miami. The hour-long kickboxing classes are no joke, and the instructors give you tough love every step of the way. Count on an insane workout, whether at the gym or via their daily virtual classes.

Better Days and Baby Jane
Was it really a night out if I didn’t stop into Better Days AND Baby Jane for a nightcap on the way home (yes, and…don’t judge me)? Oh, how I long for those nights. Until we meet again—and shots on me for whoever’s reading this! (I may regret this later.)
