Our pets are really reveling in this safer-at-home environment. They have us around more, go on walks more frequently and get way more snacks than before. But that doesn’t mean owners have it easy during the crisis.
If your furry friend is getting infinitely more attention but your current employment status keeps you from giving them proper nutrition, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) wants to help. The organization’s local chapter is giving Miami-Dade residents free dog and cat food.
Distribution is by appointment only, and those interested will need to call 1-800-738-9437 between the hours of 8am and 8pm to request one. Once you’ve been given a designated time, you’ll need to bring a photo ID that states your name and zip code as well as proof of your appointment time to collect your free bag. Cars with more than two guests will not be allowed and people showing any symptoms should send someone else in their place.
You thought your dog was excited to have you around now, just wait until you come home with a fresh bag of food for them.
