We can't believe it took this long but, alas, Van Leeuwen, the nationally acclaimed, New York-based ice cream shop, will debut its first-ever store in Miami next Thursday, March 20, at 1600 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Woohoo!

To celebrate the occasion, the shop will be giving out $1 scoops from noon to 2pm on opening date, plus free limited-edition totes to the first 100 customers starting at noon. That is all to say: get there early!
One more exclusive only available at the Miami Beach shop will be the brand's key lime pie sundae, developed alongside beloved local institution Fireman Derek's Bake Shop and only available until supplies last.

On that note: the new Florida location will also start offering the brand's new ice cream flavor, key lime pie, plus seasonal options like blue Jasmine passion fruit swirl, white chocolate raspberry brownie and mango sticky rice. All of those menu additions will be available alongside Van Leeuwen's other signature flavors (over 25!), including the always-delicious honeycomb, pistachio (made with Sicilian nuts from Mount Etna), Earl Grey tea and the famous vegan-friendly banana bread pudding, peanut butter brownie honeycomb and strawberry shortcake.
Clearly, you'll have to visit a bunch of times to try all of the flavors on offer (which are, we must admit, very much worth the calories).
“Miami is a natural fit for us given its vibrant energy and love for great food," said Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO, in an official statement about the news. "We can’t wait to welcome everyone in for good ice cream that makes you feel good.” We can't wait either!
