The Cardozo is a bit of a movie star. The hotel debuted in the 1959 Frank Sinatra film A Hole in the Head and has since featured in Joel Schumacher’s 8MM and the Farrelly brothers’ There’s Something About Mary. It’s got some pop credentials, too: it’s owned by Gloria Estefan. Built in 1939 by Henry Hohauser, whose architectural firm was responsible for more than 300 buildings in Miami, the keystone building is a classic of streamline design. Inside it’s Dalí meets deco, with a whimsical modern feel, wrought-iron furniture and glossy cherry-wood floors. The four apartment-sized suites feature breakfast nooks, king-size beds and delicious whirlpool baths.
