Cinco de Mayo isn't the only "holiday" that calls for drinking copious amounts of tequila. The other big day is February 22, which happens to be National Margarita Day. To celebrate the boozy event, a number of Miami restaurants and bars are offering discounts on their best margaritas. Looking to celebrate with a cocktail or two? Here's where you'll find cheap and tasty drinks tomorrow.
Get Leo Holtzman's award-winning Gardner's Margarita for $7 tomorrow (normally $11). The cocktail, which won the Herradura Road to the Hacienda Challenge, is a farm-to-glass take on a spicy margarita that's flavored with red peppers, serrano peppers and lime.
The Coral Gables hotel kicks off its monthly dance class series, Fancy Footwork, with a special margarita happy hour. Guests who RSVP to and attend the free two-hour salsa lesson in the lobby will receive a complimentary drink ahead of the 7pm class (call it liquid courage). Afterward, everyone is invited to the hotel bar for $8 margaritas in honor of the holiday.
The casual beachside restaurant located at the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles is offering two-for-one specials on watermelon margaritas beginning at 11am. It's also sweetening the deal for locals who share the restaurant's name: if your first or last name is Gili, just flash your I.D. to receive one free margarita to enjoy.
The Little Havana restaurant is celebrating all day with $8 Tommy Margaritas from open to close. The house margarita, made with Don Julio tequila, agave and fresh lime juice, is regularly $12.
Headed to Coral Gables for happy hour? Swing by Bulla, where their Spanish margarita will be $6 between 5 and 7pm. The special cocktail, which is exclusive to the Gables location, is sweetened with amontillado sherry instead of your typical Cointreau for an earthy-tasting take on the Mexican classic.
National Margarita Day is your opportunity to pair the popular Mexican drink with a thick, juicy Argentine steak when you take advantage of the Brickell steakhouse's $8 margarita specials, available from 4 to 7pm.
Whether you're in the mood for a traditional marg or a twist on the original, The Anderson has you covered. Available for $7 all night, customers have the option of a classic margarita or the Imperial, which features Mandarine Napoleón liqueur as well as tequila.
