Miamians can be summed up in one word: hedonistic. At least that’s according to the Time Out City Index, a global survey of 20,000 people across 18 cities that examines the qualities that make a particular city great to live in—from affordability to sociability to whether a place feels inspiring and energizing. Miami, though lacking in culture and things to do (it’s the least likely of four U.S. cities to be judged ‘unbeatable for the latest culture’), was the most exciting place to live—if you consider sex, drugs and adultery to be thrilling.

You see, people in Miami are the most likely of any city to have had an affair. It gets better. Parisians may have more sex than the rest of the world (1.4 times a week), but Miamians are the most efficient when it comes to seeking pleasure, doubling the fun at every opportunity. We’re the city whose residents are most likely to have had a threesome. Where we do the deed is interesting too, as more than a quarter of Miamians admit to having sex in the office. We should also mention that more than half of the people polled wished for a pay raise.

Our hedonistic tendencies don’t stop at sex. More than people in Madrid, the clubbing capital of the world according to the Index, Miamians are the most likely to take drugs. Is it because we love being social but struggle to make friends? Results showed that Miami residents are the least likely of all U.S. cities to talk to strangers, hang out with colleagues or go out on a date. More than 90 percent of people here claimed that it’s hard to find love. What do Miamians do instead? Nurture our large social media circles (we have the most online friends than any of the other cities), work on our bodies (Miami and Chicago are home to the country’s biggest gym rats) and think about our next sexual escapade.
