Tomorrow marks the fifth annual Give Miami Day, the largest fundraiser in Miami-Dade County, and arguably the country. Led by the Miami Foundation, a 50-year-old nonprofit dedicated to serving Greater Miami.

Nearly 700 charities and local nonprofits are participating in this year’s drive, including several of Miami’s top museums and arts organizations. Theaters such as Gablestage and the Arsht Center, as well as the Coral Gables Museum (which is waving admission tomorrow) and HistoryMiami, are all competing for your dollars. You don’t need to dig too deep to make an impact either: donations made between $25 and $10,000 are matched on a percentage basis by the Miami Foundation, the Knight Foundation and other supporting partners. Money raised goes toward really awesome things like educational programming and sports leagues for kids.

Give Miami Day starts at midnight on November 16 and runs through midnight on November 17; all donations can be made online. You can also follow the hashtag #givemiamiday on Twitter to keep a running tally of the day’s earnings and see if 2017 tops 2016’s record-breaking $9.1 million raised.

If donating to local nonprofits cuts into your holiday fund, two words might change your mind: tax deductible. Every single penny you donate can be written off your taxes at the end of the year. Your accountant, and your local arts organizations, will thank you.
