Sandra Weil started her namesake brand in 2008. She started with the idea of creating high fashion dresses; however, after three years, she launched her ready-to-wear line.
Sandra's style is inspired by geometric shapes, colors and textures of fabrics influenced by the work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a German architect who built the Bauhaus school in 1930. The result is collections that combine simplicity and design.
After five collections, a line of wedding dresses and several points of sale around the world -such as Paris and New York, Sandra Weil opened her first boutique in Mexico City.
Located in the same street where other Mexican designers are like Yakampot and Paola Hernández have opened, the store was designed by architects Ingrid Moye and Christoph Zeller - of Carla Fernández fame. The entire space is covered with vertical wooden planks which make the space seem much larger than it is.
You will find Fashion Week Mexico collections, ready-to-wear and some wedding dresses. In addition, you can also order custom pieces.
Remember, it is a boutique that carries Mexican design, it’s not fast fashion at a mall, so don’t expect Zara prices. This spot is about quality and design, so make sure that you are going to invest in something that sure to last a long time.
