Not everyone will get in here. Sorry, but that’s just a fact of this dance club for the 25 and over crowd and you’ll have to pay a 150 MXN cover if you’re a dude. But, both the waiting and the cover will be entirely worth it.
Once you get in, the place feels more “private event” than club – it’s exclusive and comfy. The acoustics are phenomenal, and they play pretty much what all the other clubs in the area play: house and techno guest DJs like, Sotomayor. However, unlike the other places in the area, they also play Cumbia, Salsa, Funk, Soul and Afrobeat. The trick is to grab a spot next to the DJ booth and dance your face off in front of the giant pink “Café Paraíso” neon.
The décor will have you looking for the beach with giant palms and tropical plants. This spot is truly an experiential journey. Ever seen a movie with a Miami nightclub scene from the 80s? It’s kind of like that.
The bar is unmistakably tropical, with bright colors and the aroma of freshly sliced fruits that’ll surely make you salivate. I like the Margarita, freshly squeezed lime and a robust tequila flavor, the sweetness of the sugar added does not disrupt the flavor. I also had a mojito and the thoroughly-muddled mint was present throughout the entire drink. It was exceptional.
Get here early. Actually, early. You will not be the only ones trying to get in at this Condesa neighborhood nightlife gem.
