This auditorium was inaugurated in September 2007 as a part of the University of Guadalajara Cultural Center. It was designed by architect José de Arimatea Moyao, who also designed impressive venues like the Foro Sol, the Offices and General Archive buildings of the Supreme Court and Foro Banamex, and was in charge of remodeling the Metropolitan and Orefón theaters.
Its movable seats structure allows seating capacity to change from 2,658 to 9,163 seats. The stage has three detachable walls so that the space can be adapted to the requirements of whatever concert, play or show is being staged.
Musicians like Carlos Rivera, Interpol, Café Tacvba and Chicago have played here. The Auditorium has also hosted plays and shows like Aventurera, Swan Lake and Disney on Ice.
