This emerging-artists spot has been around in the Condesa neighborhood for about a year. It’s intended to be a transgressive and contemporary gallery, whose objective is more than just exposure and sales. ArtSpace aims to be a platform for exhibiting works that provoke a break in the paradigms of beauty, identity, gender and sexuality, aspects that would not be easy to exhibit in many other yuppie-friendly galleries in the area.
ArtSpace is composed of three rooms and an open space. The house is decorated with artistic pieces: stencil, sculptures, painting and a collage in the bathroom that resembles a punk bar of the seventies.
It’s by appointment only and when you arrive you’ll be greeted with a coffee, mezcal or beer to make your stay more enjoyable while you take the tour.
ArtSpace is perfect for the spectator willing to challenge sexual taboos as well as social, mental and religious barriers.
