Time Out says

You find yourself in front of a sixteenth century colonial building of immense size and structure with a grand entrance made from imported stone. It is hard to imagine that within this former convent of Dominican friars is now a space dedicated to promoting contemporary art.

Since 2005 the property belonging to the National Union of Education Workers, was given to the Cultural Foundation of Contemporary Mexico (led by Maricruz Montelongo Gordillo), and since then has organized art exhibitions, visual projects and literary conferences.

The hall holds conferences, concerts and dance recitals. The auditorium is used as a cinema and there are theatre seasoned planned for each month.

The Centre of Contemporary Culture Mexico, is a great place for being you like seeing art in unusual settings, in the halls you can find the work of new artists who reinterpret the notions of contemporary art. Many pieces reflected ideas that are not that easy to digest, such as the eroticism in the work of Juan Astyanax, or the criticism of the human condition in the sculptures of Henry Walbey.
