It's no secret that Melbourne is a tapas-loving city. Restaurants went from having to explain that it's OK to share plates around a dinner table to offering tapas for breakfast lunch and dinner. It looks Spain's noticed our love of tapas dishes that their tourism board has chosen Melbourne as one of the key cities in the world to host World Tapas Day on Thursday June 15.
Melbourne's Iberican restaurants are getting involved by offering special tapas dishes with wine and beer pairings. The event's participating restaurants are MoVida and MoVida Aqui, Bomba, Bar Nacional, Naked for Satan, Anada, El Rincon, Chato Café y Tapas, Bar Lourinhã and the newly opened Nomada Café y Tapas in Fitzroy.
Some of Melbourne's participating restaurants will be offering their tapas menu from June 15 until June 29, so you've got plenty of time to try specials like Bomba's chargrilled octopus or Anada's tapas and sherry flights.
