It's almost time to wave goodbye to another year, meaning it's time for you to start looking for somewhere to celebrate the the year that was. Whether you're after a great view of the fireworks, a big party or a refined meal followed by a respectable bed time, these bars and pubs will ensure you leave 2017 with great memories.

When you’ve had enough of the silvery goon sack New Year’s Eves of your early twenties, book yourself in for the Middle Park Hotel’s over 28s-only NYE celebration. For $110 you get a four-hour buffet and drinks package (including tap beer, wine and basic spirits) as well as live entertainment in the lead up to the count down. Ring in the year surrounded by people who know more about wine than ‘red’ or ‘white’. Tickets are available right up until December 29.

Rooftop parties were probably invented for NYE (what better way to see the fireworks?). End 2017 with a bang at the Imperial Bourke’s NYE rooftop party. Enjoy endless beer, wine, spirits, bubbly and canapés while watching the fireworks from front and centre. The countdown to 2018 will be playing live on the rooftop’s jumbotron and DJs will be playing music all night long. Book your tickets before December 1 to save $20 ($115 after December 1).

If you find yourself south of the river come December 31 head over to the Imperial South Yarra. Their Disco of the Decade party is shaping up to be your no fuss, all fun NYE event. For $20 per person you get a glass of wine or Hawthorn Pale Ale on arrival plus two rooms, five DJs and all the dance and R&B you can handle. It all kicks off from 9pm and goes till the wee hours of the morning.

The Provincial
The Provincial

We cannot stress this enough: NYE is best spent partying on a rooftop. The Provincial’s rooftop NYE bash features another end of year must: a free cocktail on arrival. Sitting in the Provincial’s swanky rooftop in Fitzroy you’ll still have a great view of the fireworks, without getting stuck in the NYE city scrabble. Tickets are just $20 and there will be live entertainment downstairs from 7pm.
