The grand finale of this year’s Midsumma Festival is a bustling day-to-night street party in Melbourne’s buzzy Gertrude and Smith precinct.
The free all-ages block party will run from 11am until 9pm on Sunday, February 11 across two music stages, multiple DJ decks and laneway activations. A host of roaming performers will delight the young and young-at-heart and there’ll also be a visual feast of artwork to explore.
Multi-award nominated First Nations artist, writer and producer Sycco will headline the party. The jam-packed line-up also features pop powerhouse and queer icon Kira Puru, dark pop princess JXCKY and up-and-coming queer pop artist Tom Nethersole.
Genre-bending punk duo Cry Club will also take to the stage, as will indie-rock performer Rin McArdle, and 80s all-women supergroup The Lost Girls. Ethiopian rapper Lion will share his sharpshooting rap stylings, while beloved cabaret company Yummy will show off their slick aesthetic and camp sensibility.
Yuwi, Torres Strait and South Sea Islander artist, Dylan Mooney will present the Melbourne debut of Still Thriving, a series which has been standing in Sydney’s Kings Cross as part of WorldPride 2023.
