Located in the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, the Melbourne Observatory is a perfect place to get started on an astronomical quest.
Every Monday, the Gardens run night time astronomical tours that see the roof of the Melbourne Observatory rotate and open up to the Australian night sky. Visitors will get the chance to see constellations and distant planets using the Observatory’s powerful heritage telescopes used under the guidance of experts from the Astronomical Society of Victoria.
Tours go ahead in all weather conditions and begin at 8pm (9pm in daylight savings months).
