There's nothing like spending a spring afternoon wandering slowly through a market, filled with beautiful crafts and pretty trinkets. It's made even sweeter when you know your purchases are supporting local makers and artists, some of whom might be at the very beginning of their creative journeys. This is what you'll experience on a visit to Schoolhouse Studios' Spring Makers Market.
The not-for-profit creative studio in Coburg is hosting its first spring market event, offering a platform for local makers and those from further afield to showcase their wares. Shoppers will find a wide variety of stalls held by creatives of diverse disciplines, like zine-makers, ceramicists, pre-loved clothing vendors, candle pourers, garment repairists and visual artists,
Plus, there'll be eclectic acitvities on offer, like a terrarium workshop, spring-themed flash tattoos from a resident tattooist, shiatsu massage and even aura cleansings. Kids aren't left out either, with a 'Little Market' program of young makers selling their very first creative endeavours, like handmade, ceramics, toys and artworks – adorable.
You can also grab a coffee to sip while you browse or enjoy a tasty treat from a small-batch ice creamery.
The free entry market is located at 28 Victoria St, Coburg, on October 14 from 10am to 3pm. Find out more on the website here.
