Whether you rushed to the cinemas to see Saltburn the second you heard the words ‘Jacob Elordi’, or you’ve recently caught up via streaming, we’re pretty sure half of Melbourne still has, ahem, certain scenes from the flick living in their heads rent-free.
So in wonderful news for everyone who literally cannot stop thinking about the twisted film, Melbourne is getting its very own Saltburn-themed party, complete with a midnight ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ singalong.
On February 3, dress like you’re off to Oliver’s infamous birthday party and make your way inside the grand estate (aka Ballers Clubhouse) for a five-hour Saltburn sesh soundtracked by nostalgic bangers from the film. Sip on a Bathtub Brew or Grave Grinding Gulp and try not to think too hard about the scenes that inspired the cocktails. Bonus: the best outfit will score a $100 prize!
Arrive ready to scream your lungs out and get weird to the beat of key tunes from the soundtrack. The speakers will be pumping Girls Aloud’s ‘Sound of the Underground’, MGMT’s ‘Time to Pretend’ and ‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers. Of course, the party wouldn’t be complete without raving the night away to the song stuck in everyone’s brains, ‘Perfect (Exceeder)’ by Mason and Princess Superstar.
There’ll be a free glitter station to help you dial up the indie sleaze aesthetic, but we’re afraid it’s BYO Jacob Elordi’s bathwater candle. Like the rager in the film, this party sounds like it could be one for the ages. Just try to make it out alive. Tickets are available here.
