If you haven't heard of Among Us, it's quite possible that you've been living under a rock, so let's get you up to speed. Released in 2018, the online space-themed game has players working as astronauts; most players are crewmates, but a few are imposters tasked with slyly killing crewmates and bluffing their way to being the last ones standing. It's an addictive game of social deduction, and now a real-life version called Saboteurs has made its way to Melbourne.
Just like its inspiration, Saboteurs is set on a moon base replete with features like a decontamination unit, medbay, sleep pods and mining tools. Complete tasks like watering the plants, mining moon opals, tuning communications and establishing shields while also keeping an eye out for the imposter amongst the crew. Survive, detect and eject them before you die.
The game has launched at Testing Grounds in the Queen Victoria Market Precinct and can be played daily from 8am to 10pm. Sessions can host up to 15 players and last 40 minutes (including a ten-minute induction). Bookings are essential and can be made here.
