Time Out says

Spring has sprung and so have boundless reasons to make a road trip – but our very favourite has to be this exclusive cellar door launch from ECK Wines, a small-batch winery owned and operated by Emily Kinsman in Central Victoria.

This first-of-its-kind exclusive event from ECK will feature live music from the insanely talented blues artist Jarrad Shaw, free tastings of ECK’s hotly anticipated new Pohlman’s Creek range and the opportunity to pre-order a gorgeous picnic box to make a day of it while you take in the stunning natural surrounds of Lake Eppalock’s northern banks.

An ex-lawyer who decided she wanted her life to be 'of the land', Kinsman has adopted a slow and personal approach to hand-crafting her wines, lending each release a unique sense of place and character.

"I’m a touch romantic", says Kinsman. "My mind wanders back in time – back to when life was a little slower, a little simpler and we enjoyed things a little more. I want to create from the land; create wines that allow people to slow down and enjoy at their most important, special and intimate moments."

Her first wines were released in late 2019 to much curiosity, and in 2022, she secured some fruit from Glenhope Estate, Victoria’s highest altitude haven for premier shiraz wine in the Heathcote region. It’s from this harvest that Kinman has created the three wines that make up the intriguing Pohlman's Creek range: a rosé from cabernet sauvignon fruit, a pinot noir syrah field blend and a rouge cuvée – a blend of equal parts cabernet sauvignon, merlot and malbec.

"My hope is always that my wines create a sense of anticipation,” Kinsman shares, “that the last taste was good enough to excite the drinker, to anticipate the next chapter – it’s my life’s journey, I hope people might enjoy joining me for the ride."

If you’re a lover of true independent winemaking, pop this wholesome cellar door launch and fun day out in your calendar. Click here to read more and book a free ticket. To find out the full spread of mouthwatering goodies you get in the picnic boxes, go to the website.
