Time Out says

Us Melburnians love nothing more than spoiling our fur babies with puppacinos or boutique pet accessories – the city is even home to one of the world's largest dog-dedicated festivals. Now you can be even more extra with your puppy love by giving your dog the star treatment, and booking in a photo shoot to immortalise their cuteness.

In honour of International Dog Day, Marriott Melbourne is offering a supermodel experience to four-legged friends at its Southbank hotel on August 19. Pawrents are invited to bring their pooches for a session with acclaimed Melbourne photographer Kristoffer Paulsen, who normally snaps famous faces but has a passion for capturing canines in signature artistic portraits.

Attendees can select two digital images as well as a high-resolution photo professionally printed, framed and posted, with each session plus finished products costing $300 all up.

While you watch your pride and joy being papped, you’ll even get a (human) treat to enjoy, with a Gin and Tonic on the house. Bookings are available online, but get in quick as there are limited sittings at this one-off event.

And if you’re looking for a pooch-friendly staycation, AC by Marriott Southbank warmly welcomes furry friends, offering a VIP ‘Close to Pawfection’ package that includes a dog bowl, bed, plenty of treats and even a canine dining menu.

Wanting to pamper your pooch all weekend? Check out our dog-friendly guide to Melbourne, including parks, pubs and more.
