Time Out says

Calling all sommelier wannabes – it's time to embrace your inner wine snob and indulge in a European vino exploration (minus the exxy overseas trip). While Melbourne has a plethora of wine bars to quaff fine drops, Coburg's Olivine Wine Bar is hosting monthly tastings for those who want to take their love of wine to the next level. The stylish bar is found deep within former Pentridge Prison's stone-walled B-division, with cells transformed into stylish yet comfortable nooks, perfect for sipping a glass (or several) of vino.

Olivine's Wine School will lead you on an educational (and delicious) journey through Europe's top tipples, with a different country featured each month. Olivine's sommelier and wine curator, Liinaa Berry, will share her knowledge on taste, texture, producers and place of origin of eight different wines in each class. Wine lovers will jump at the opportunity to ask experts their burning questions and receive an annotated wine map.

France will feature for the session on October 25, highlighting the Loire Valley. Clos Cachet's Alex Rougeot will provide his expertise on some of the finest expressions of chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc and cabernet Franc. On November 29, the class will focus on Italian wines.
