Raise your stein and bust your best lederhosen, because this year Munich Brahaus South Wharf will be celebrating Oktoberfest in a huge way. Melbourne's much-loved beer hall will be marking the Bavarian tradition by hosting the first ever Oktoberfest Street Party.
Melburnians can enjoy a taste of the world’s biggest beer festival when the Oktoberfest Street Party hits South Wharf. The festivities will kick off with ceremonial keg taps of four official beers, and will be followed by live oom-pah bands, yodelling and a parade. The outdoor celebration will of course have plenty of beer flowing and you can try German food stalls selling pretzels, pork knuckle and schnitzel. There will also be a Dogs of Oktoberfest Contest, where pooches can don their dirndl and lederhosen, plus $1 from each pretzel sold will be donated to local animal rescue charities.
It all goes down Saturday September 16 from 11am at Munich Brauhas South Wharf, with festivities going into the evening.
Book in now for your chance to enjoy Melbourne's first Oktoberfest Street Party.
