Time Out says

Love all things Celtic? Portarlington's annual National Celtic Festival could be just the fleadh ceoil you are looking for.

Now in its 17th year, the National Celtic Festival offers musicians, dance, theatre, literature readings, masterclasses and showcases across 14 stages. Acts including The Young Folk, Maggie Carty & Máirtín Staunton, The Lumber Jills, Colin Lillie, The Maes, Claddagh, Rich Davies and The Low Road, Fiona Ross and Shane O'Mara, and Bush Gothic will be playing.

Some 15,000 people come to see the festival each year at Portarlington, which is just a 90-minute drive from Melbourne. In addition to performances, there are also food and drink stalls, a wine bar and the Celtic market, full of handicrafts and art from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The festival makes use of numerous venues around town, but the focal point is the beautiful WG Little Reserve, right on the Portarlington foreshore.
