St Patrick’s Day is increasingly becoming a much-loved unofficial public holiday – and if you’re yet to celebrate the lucky day, the Melbourne Celtic Festival is giving you the perfect excuse.
A stellar line-up of musicians representing the Celtic diaspora will perform across four intimate stages at the Mission to Seafarers – with more than 100 diverse Celtic artists, including international guest artists.
Scottish Indian singer, songwriter and harpist Chloe Matharu will give a headline performance, featuring songs inspired by her time at sea as a navigational officer in the Merchant Navy.
You can also groove along to Aussie/Scottish rock band Claymore and legends the Bushwackers, Big Fiddle Little Fiddle, Saoirse and the Victoria Welsh Choir.
Join in on the free community Ceilidh dance on the Saturday night with the Melbourne Scottish Filddlers, or enjoy a sound bath from Fiona Ross, thanks to her alchemy crystal singing bowls.
The family-friendly and accessible event also includes a prize-packed raffle, a coffee cart and licensed bar. Ticket sales will go to supporting important mental health initiatives through Australian Rotary Health and Rotary Port Phillip.
