Game of Thrones Whisky Tasting Experience

How better to prepare yourself for the final bloody season of Game of Thrones than with whisky paired to each house?

Time Out says

SPOILER ALERT FOR ALL SEVEN SEASONS THAT HAVE AIRED THUS FAR. You were warned.

"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die."

Cercei Lannister might have a point there, but when you *watch* Game of Thrones things aren't so bleak. Unless you were a fan of Ned Stark. Or Catelyn Stark. Or Rickon. Or Robert Baratheon. Or any of the young Lannisters. Or Olenna Tyrell. Or any of the Tyrells. Or, well, Viserion.

Being a GoT fan is a tough gig. But it is made better, as so many things are made better, by the addition of single-malt whisky.

HBO has paired many of the Thrones houses (though not all – where is House Tyrell?!) with exceptional whiskies from around the world, and you can try all of them during a two-hour tasting session at CBD Viking bar Mjølner.

The whiskies are: Cardhu Gold Reserve (House Targaryen); Talisker Select Reserve (House Greyjoy); Lagavulin 9 year old (House Lannister); Singleton Glendullan Select (House Tully); Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost (House Stark); Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost (House Baratheon); and Oban Bay Reserve (the Night's Watch).

There will be charcuterie and cheese as accompaniment, and the tasting is sure to get you in the mood for the launch of the final season of Thrones, which will air on April 15, our time.
