It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Melbourne. The sparkling festive lights have been switched on, Kris Kringle names have been drawn and Santa is en route to bring even more cheer to the capital. Crown Melbourne has got the big day tied up in a bow, with a range of entertainment and activities on for the whole family. Head down to Southbank and get amongst it.

If you’re feeling festive, hop along to ArtVo, an immersive ‘trick art’ gallery that’s the first of its kind in Australia. Unlike normal art galleries, visitors are encouraged to interact with the artworks and snap a photo with each of the eight Crown Christmas murals, which have been painted onsite. Become part of the art and share your photo on social media using the hashtag #ArtVoCrown.

Get your camera ready for some seriously spectacular Christmas lights as Crown brings infectious cheer to The Atrium. The Atrium at Crown Towers will be decked out with Christmas lights where you'll get to eyeball Australia's only 24-hour fully-lit Christmas tree and enjoy a light and sound show that features eight giant-sized animated Christmas baubles that open up to reveal your favourite jolly characters and carols. The free Christmas Spectacular is on from November 26 to January 1, 10am to midnight, with shows beginning every 30 minutes.

Crown’s practically bursting with festive entertainment this Christmas season. While you’re checking out the big and bright Christmas lights illuminating Crown, you can also get a photo with the big man in red. Santa will be available for photos in the lead up to Christmas Day – and the best part? It’s all totally free. Get yours from noon to 6pm daily, and enjoy some festive cheer every Saturday and Sunday from December 2 to 17, then every day until Christmas Eve.

Visitors aren’t short on dining options at Crown, and this festive season you’re invited to feast out at an award-winning restaurant with family and friends. Long Chim invites you to enjoy Maa Long Chim lunch ($55pp) of Thai street food in the lead up to the big day; Parisian diner Bistro Guillaume will be doing a six-course Christmas Day lunch ($190pp) of French classics and The Merrywell Upstairs has a killer outdoor terrace where you can celebrate the Christmas season with a range of contemporary dishes. That’s not to mention all the festivities happening at Mesh, Kitchen Workshop, Koko or Mr Hive Kitchen and Bar who will all be putting on special Christmas menus throughout December. For more information on restaurant offers, head to Crown Melbourne’s website.

Thinking about all those looming Christmas presents? Take the pressure out of shopping and let your loved one choose their own experience with a Crown gift card. They can put it towards a Crown Spa treatment, a luxe hotel stay or pick up something from Crown’s ‘At Home’ collection of linens and homeware items (think premium bed linens and lush candles). Heads up: if you purchase a $450 Crown gift card between now and December 24, you’ll receive $50 additional value.
