Time Out says

This horticultural haven includes a community garden, environmental education and social enterprise centres and an urban farm, spread across four sites. The original Brunswick East park is the main hub, and a beloved fixture of the northern suburbs.

The CERES estate used to be a barren plot of land when it was first established in 1982, but anyone of the half a million yearly visitors can attest to how verdant the grounds have become since then. For anyone interest in permaculture and sustainable living, a visit to CERES is inspiring (and you'll most likely pick up a tip or two).

Keen to get involved? The park’s rambling paths lead to community kitchens, a weekly marketplace and several education centres. Plus, it regularly hosts a variety of fun events, from seasonal festivals to weed dating sessions.
