Not only has award-winning French rosé brand Maison Mirabeau long been a go-to for discerning vino drinkers, it has also proved itself as an exciting innovator within the winemaking industry. And now, it has a new offering on the market: a dry rosé gin.
To celebrate the launch of the unique flavour profile of this brand new spirit – which is made from upcycled grape skins and boasts highly aromatic botanicals inspired by the French Riviera – Maison Mirabeau has partnered with leading bartenders across the country to create a special rosé-inspired twist on the Negroni.
Using Maison Mirabeau’s dry rosé gin, Sam Wallace from Gin Palace, Joey Tai from Flower Drum, Angus Payne from Pearl Diver and Taylor Matthews from Frederic have all crafted their very own take on the classic cocktail – with these drinks available to purchase at the aforementioned Melbourne venues throughout the month of August.
To give you an idea of what to expect from these one-of-a-kind concoctions, Wallace’s zesty version blends rose vermouth and grapefruit aperitif, while Tai’s offering features mure, campari and sweet vermouth served in a short tumbler glass with a block of ice and a garnish of orange peel. Payne’s Negroni is on the sweeter side, and includes Lillet rosé, campari and strawberry juice, and Matthews’ is a simple-yet-satisfying combo of Lillet Blanc and Suze liqueur with a grapefruit twist.
Our advice? Run, don’t walk, if you want to sample one of these limited-edition beverages for yourself – they won’t be around for long! Mirabeau Dry Rosé Gin is stocked in Dan Murphy’s and BWS. For more information, head to the website.
