Time Out says

If you’ve been dreaming of applying for MasterChef but don’t know a sous vide from a sous chef, or you just want to step out of your culinary comfort zone and learn something new, we’ve got just the thing.

Brunswick Kitchen is an intimate cooking school that specialises in small-group classes (there’s a max of 12 people per session) for adults and children alike. At the helm is owner and chef Tracey Lister, who has more than 30 years of hospo experience under her apron and is the co-author of four cookbooks. Having lived in Hanoi for ten years, her expertise is largely grounded in Vietnamese cuisine, but she brings a wealth of general cooking knowledge, technique and experience to her hands-on classes.

The classes on offer provide the opportunity to eat your way around the globe. From preparing a Persian feast to mastering the art of making vegan gnocchi, there’s something to suit every taste bud. Other highlights include sessions on Japanese street food, summer salads, Ottolenghi-inspired fish dishes and festive German treats.

And it’s not unusual for Brunswick Kitchen to invite some special guests into the collaborative space, with top Melbourne chefs like Almay Jordaan (Old Palm Liquor, Bahama Gold) and Daniel Wilson (Huxtaburger) hosting regular workshops, too.

There’s even something for the little ones, with interactive, safe sessions held on the school holidays that allow kids to learn basic skills, experiment with new foods and get creative in the kitchen.

Go on, become friends with food and master a bunch of tasty recipes that are guaranteed to elevate your next dinner party and impress all your mates. Brunswick Kitchen is located in – you guessed it! – Brunswick, and there are weekly classes available covering many different cuisines. Find out more here.
