Time Out says

MasterChef Australia judge and journalist Sofia Levin recently hosted a sell-out, star-studded fundraiser dinner with some of Melbourne's most loved chefs and bar talent.

The cause? To raise funds for MND Victoria, the only not-for-profit organisation that provides supports to Victorians living with and impacted by motor neurone disease (MND).

Rosheen Kaul (Etta), Andreas Papadakis (Tipo 00), Tom Sarafian and Dave Verheul (Embla) were among the culinary stars present on the night, so if you're kicking yourself that you missed a ticket don't worry – we totally understand.

But following the dinner's success, there's still a way you can get involved. Levin, an ambassador for MND Victoria who lost her father to the disease two months ago, has initiated a follow-up online auction.

“For people who are going to spend money at restaurants anyway, or who know they are going to buy presents for their loved ones or themselves in the next six months, I urge them to do it through this online auction, because then that money can go towards helping people whose lives have been turned upsidedown by motor neurone disease,” says Levin.

There's a bunch of exciting foodie and lifestyle experience up for grabs, including but not limited to:

  • Tables at hard-to-book restaurants Chae and Minamishima
  • A year of bread, beer and coffee from Baker Bleu, Brick Lane and Industry Beans
  • Masterclasses at Apollo Inn, Navi, Tulum, Mister Bianco and G. McBean Family Butcher
  • Dinner parties catered by the likes of Mischa Tropp (Toddy Shop) and the Lucy Liu team
  • A money-can't-buy MasterChef Australia VIP backstage experience for four people
  • A two-night Crazy Dog Person package at an Ovolo hotel
  • Gourmet weekends in the Yarra Valley (with a hot air balloon ride) and at Dunkeld's Royal Mail Hotel
  • Signed copies of Jamie Oliver's first three cookbooks, which are no longer in print
Also available in the auction are pieces by Australian artists, jewellery, health and wellness items, and a huge range of goodies for home – including everything from Gordon Ramsay-approved cookware and knives to ceramics from MUD Australia, Robert Gordon and the Good Plate.

Click here to see the full range of items available. You can bid online until 5pm, Monday September 23. For more information about MND Australia, visit the website.
