The beachside suburb of Mordialloc is home to a thriving community of artisans, makers and producers, especially within the Mordi Village precinct. These emerging and established creatives deserve some love, which is why the City of Kingston is throwing a big one-day open day to give everyone the perfect excuse to come check out the goodness.
Come to Mordi Village between 9am and 11pm on Saturday, July 22 and you’ll be met with an abundance of things to do and places to explore. From gourmet food tastings and tours to performances and workshops, this open day will serve you the best of the area on a platter, sometimes literally.
Start your day with a visit to Bikecraft for a toastie or coffee, then try a free spray paint workshop at BrightSide Art. Next, head to Curbside Coaching for a free skateboarding workshop – good for all ages and abilities. Have a boogie and blow some bubbles at Glittery Tapping Wonderland, or take in some art at Le Studio Art Space & Gallery. Once you’re done, calm down with free breathwork at Wildsoul Wellness.
Meet local makers at the Flying Anvil Blacksmith and Dylan Black Furniture, or stop by Mordialloc Vintage Market to join the treasure hunt. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can refuel at Hansa’s Streak & Grill, then visit Guras Cacao Chocolaterie to get 10 per cent off some sweet treats. Round out the day with a free tour at Braeside Brewing Co, or a signature cocktail at Saint Felix Distillery. Learn more about the small businesses in Mordi Village at the City of Kingston website.
