Having dominated the West End for 12 years, dystopian rock odyssey (and homage to Queen) We Will Rock You has set its sights on Australia, where the original production took out five Helpmann Awards in 2004.
This new Australian production is being put on by local mega producer John Frost, in association with Queen Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre Entertainment and Tribeca Theatrical Productions.
And it's sucked up a heap of talent, cast-wise: Casey Donovan (who would have returned to the Hayes' encore season of Rent) will play Killer Queen, and Jaz Flowers and Erin Clare (who would have reprised their roles when Heathers The Musical transferred to Sydney Opera House) are also on board, as Oz and Scaramouche respectively.
Brian Mannix, formerly lead singer of 80s band Uncanny X-Men, will play veteran rocker Buddy.
The lead role, bohemian dreamer Galileo, will be played by Gareth Keegan (Jersey Boys).
