Time Out says

What exactly is a superbike? It's basically a super-fast motorbike that can reach engine capacities of 600cc or higher, and the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) is like the Formula One of the superbike world. It's an exciting, high-octane series of global events that draws spectators from the world over, and round one is taking place right here in Australia – on Phillip Island, no less – from February 24-26.

WorldSBK as a whole is sponsored by Tissot, the Swiss watchmaker that's served as the official timekeeper for sporting events like the Tour de France and NBA, and this round is sponsored by Grand Ridge Brewery, a local and family-owned craft brewery. There are 12 rounds in total, and the results determine who attends the World Championships.

If you'd like to follow the action from home, the entire season of WorldSBK will be shown on Fox Australia.
