Love lawn bowls but want something posher than a pork snag? Look no further. At the Champions Bistro your choices come from a French-style fine dining menu dreamed up by ex-Vue de Monde chef Clinton McIver. (We all need a change of scene sometime.) While the five-course degustations and deconstructed desserts may have ruffled some of the old-timers, the in-season produce and interesting twists on sturdy staples has hungry bowlers and curious food fans returning multiple nights a week. As well as browsing the vegie patches out back, McIver even heads to the local parkland to source wild vegetables for his dishes. Which is very sporting of him.
