Just half an hour from the CBD, this family-owned business has been offering Christmas trees of all sizes for more than 35 years. If you're feeling the stress of the silly season, order your tree online and get it delivered seven days a week. Or you can visit the farm to pick the one that's just right for you – on select days there's even a Christmas-themed market with a petting zoo, Polar Express bus and appearances by Santa himself. The team can also dispose of your trees post-Christmas as well.

This company, which was started by two friends, sources trees from a farm that has been in the same family for more than 30 years. When there are so many other things to think about around Christmas time, it's important to ensure that getting a tree doesn't require an hours-long trek. With three convenient retail locations (Williamstown, Preston and Brighton East) as well as free delivery available across Melbourne, getting a tree couldn't be any easier.

The folks at Daylesford Christmas Tree Farm live by a single philosophy: for every tree cut down, a new one is planted. You can be sure that your Christmas decorations won't contribute to environmental damage. Plus, every tree is at least four years old and has been carefully sculpted to maintain a perfect shape.

The folks over at Real Christmas Trees Melbourne have been providing pinus radiata and European Douglas fir trees to the people of Melbourne for the past decade. Each festive season sees them harvest around 6,000 trees – collected fresh on the day of delivery and protected by netting. Bookings are made via the website, with next-day delivery and installation guaranteed. Best of all, the business donates a portion of each sale to various charities.

These guys have been in the Christmas business for nearly 50 years and understand what makes the perfect pine. Trees are grown across two locations (Nar Nar Goon and Officer), so there are plenty to go around. OK so you might not have space for a full-size tree – how about a mini one? Floraly does real, 45-50cm-tall Christmas trees in a pop-up pot and can send them straight to your door. These mini trees come with soil, fairy lights (including batteries), baubles, bells and a tree topper.
