The lovely folk from Third Drawer Down have opened a southern sister store smack-bang in the centre of Prahran. A Camille Walala mural adorns the outer facade, and within, you'll find plenty of artisan gifts, design wares and handcrafted goods.
Glasgow-based artist David Shrigley (whose work is currently the subject of the NGV’s big summer exhibition) has recently teamed up with this objets d’art emporium to create a range of greeting cards and homewares. At once crude and endearing, objects like the tea towel blurting LARGE FANCY ROOM FILLED WITH CRAP encompass the air of cheeky randomness and disregard for the overly twee that has earned Third Drawer Down a cult following. Wonky splatter mugs, camel-shaped egg cups, peanut butter and jelly sandwich wallets by local and international designers do just as well as gifts as for bringing some affordable, unique art into your home.
