If you love the look of mosaic-like terrazzo tiles and want to incorporate them in your home without tearing up your floors, ceramicist Tantri Mustika creates earthy, terrazzo-inspired homewares and jewellery that will help to scratch that itch.
Mustika's work generally incorporates the use of meticulously hand-stained and marbled clays that mimic the characteristics of natural stones. Think colourways that revolve around earthy tones like dusty mauve, sage, goldenrod and warm browns and greys. You'll find a mix of traditional and playful shapes in her ceramics, and the occasional pop of gold lustre.
Her shop, which is located in the Collingwood Yards artist precinct, is self-designed and largely self-built by Mustika. Just like her pieces, the fit-out features benches and display counters with terrazzo-style tiles and splashes of bold colour amongst soft shades of white and beige.
Through a rose-coloured curtain in the middle of the shop is Mustika's studio and workshop space, and you can book in for sessions where you can learn about ceramics techniques. Her wares are available for purchase both in-store and through her website.
