It’s easy to miss Round & Round Records if you’re walking on Sydney Road; surrounded by bridal stores, the only telltale sign you’ve reached your destination is the sandwich board featuring a friendly owl outside.
The store is small but packed with custom-built wooden racks of new and second-hand vinyl.
There are unique touches, like the most specialised genre labelling around (anybody for a rack of Italian prog, ambient or grunge?). Each record sleeve has a white sticker on it, featuring reviews, recommendations and even artist facts all helpfully added by friendly Scottish owner Jeff.
So you don’t get stuck taking home the wrong Italian prog 12” single, there’s a turntable on the counter so you can try before you buy; and a well thought out range of second hand books to boot.
