After launching at the South Melbourne Market more than ten years ago, Rollie Nation has hit Gertrude Street for the opening of its first bricks-and-mortar store. In addition to a retail space slinging its range of store-exclusive, ultra-cool sneakers, slides, sandals and boots will be a digital gallery – dubbed RollieX – supporting local and emerging NFT artists.
The futuristic space is set to feature 16 screens that have been custom-built for a multi-sensory experience. The screens will display 150 pieces from more than 30 artists, including Aeforia, Yugxl and Sydney’s own Wrath. Design agency Space Between worked closely with Rollie Nation founder Vince Lebon to create the store, including the event space that is set to become the place to be for Metaverse networking, launch nights, gallery shows and workshops.
“The sky isn’t the limit, it’s where it all started and there’s so much to come," says Lebon. "You’ll see constant innovation, community nights for our loyal customers, lots of new and cutting-edge products and not to mention our incredible team members. It’s the fruition of a dream that has been planted since the beginning.”
