Time Out says

Poison City isn't just a record store, it's also an independent record label and distributor that's already clocked up two decades in the rock'n'roll business.

After more than a dozen years with a well-frequented shopfront on Fitzroy's Brunswick Street, 2020 saw the store and label make the move to the border of Preston and Thornbury.

Local bands like Camp Cope, Cable Ties and Mod Con have put out music through Poison City, with the store also often playing host to in-house performances.

In terms of actual wax, Poison City specialising in local and imported indie, punk, underground rock, folk, metal, hip hop and the genres that lurk between. You'll also find band tees, tapes, books and skate gear.
