The stats
A $300m redevelopment was completed in March of 2015, adding a further 100 stores, bringing the total up to 500.

Surprisingly good places to eat
For sweet treats there’s Koko Black, Max Brenner, Cupcake Central, the Cupcake Bakery and Cacao… and Dessert Story makes Taiwanese and Hong Kong goodies. Mexican joint Guzman Y Gomez is open late every night, if it’s a frozen margarita or a bucketful of Coronas that you’re after.

Interesting things to do
In the words of Missy Elliot, “If you a fly gal get your nails done, get a pedicure, get your hair did”. Here you’ll find nail bars, hair extensions and event a tattoo parlour: Base 9. Commemorate the new look at Starshots Glamour Photography. Then sweat it all off again at Fitness First.

Surprisingly good shops
There are two levels of David Jones as well as Uniqlo, Zara and both a Samsung Experience store and an Apple store.

When evening comes
Highpoint is only open until 5-5.30pm, or 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays, so hit the Hoyts cinema.

In the area
Jump off the tram at Ascotvale to enjoy its quaint main street, or take a cruise down the Maribyrnong River that can take you as far as Scienceworks at Spotswood.
