High Tide rallies against the archetype of sex shops emblazoned with flashing neon signs or blackened windows, aiming to make purchasing sex toys a shame-free, approachable and inclusive retail experience.
Created by couple Paige Aubort and Søren Poulsen, the Rankins Lane shopfront appears more like an art gallery than an adult store, with a modern Scandi interior design enveloped in warm tones that gently beckon customers inside.
The store sells adult products for all genders and sexualities, including toys, equipment, lubricants and oils, from a curated collection of more than thirty sexual wellness brands like Figr, Dame, La Loba and Tenga.
The shop’s wares are not only designed to provide pleasure in the bedroom, but be pleasing to the eye, too.
“Ultimately, we want High Tide products to be proudly displayed on nightstands, not hidden away in the bottom drawer,” says High Tide co-director Paige Aubort.
“We truly believe that shopping for toys should be delightful not sordid, curious not shameful and for everyone, and we mean everyone, to have an elevated shopping experience from start to finish.
“Our hope is that the High Tide community will feel comfortable to pop into the store casually rather than plotting to sneak in and out of an alternative adult shop.”
The price points of pleasure-centred products at High Tide range from affordable to luxury – so there’s truly something for everyone and every taste. The business also platforms sex education, offering events and workshops in areas like sexual wellbeing, intimacy and self-development.
