Danielle Plaisted opened her boutique in January 2014, showcasing cutting-edge underground designer labels from around the world – some of which are exclusive to her shop. Distal has quickly become the toast of the online alt-fashion sphere, leaning to the goth, cyberpunk and all-round outlandish persuasions. Among its highlights are outrageous creations from Melbourne duo Di$count Univer$e (of which Ms Cyrus is a noted fan), as well as chunky statement jewellery from Paris-based designer Andrea Crews and off-kilter monochrome fashion from the UK's KTZ. It’s also one of the only places where you’ll find merchandise from local artists NO ZU, HTRK, Forces, White Hex and more.
