Whether you’re envisioning a sunlit dining room spread or the perfect al fresco table setting, it’s that time of year where we all start to think about hosting friends or family for a meal. If you’re anything like us, you’re probably looking for ways to make your host duties as effortless as possible. Without further ado, here are our three top tips to make hosting easy this spring.

Prep ahead of time

This might sound like a simple one, but there really is no such thing as being too prepared for a dinner party or lunch. The more you plan, cook and organise in advance, the less time you’ll spend slaving away in the kitchen while your guests are dying to chat.

Ask your guests to bring a plate

Speaking of getting stuck in the kitchen, one way to even out the labour is to ask your guests to contribute a dish. Bonus: they’ll probably be happy to do something useful.

Get some help in the kitchen

We’re calling it: this is our best tip yet. Why spend hours, chopping, slicing, dicing and mixing when you could stop by JB Hi-Fi and pick up an appliance that will become your new bestie? For example, the KitchenAid 9 Cup Food Processor is super versatile and holds heaps of whatever you’re mixing, chopping or kneading. Alternatively, the KitchenAid 4.8L Stand Mixer is one of the OG kitchen helpers that has stood the test of time.
